For the most fashionable flowers in town, we team up with wedding stylist Lindsey Hunter for her top predictions for 2018…
2017 was blooming marvellous and full of wonderful wedding trends from huge floral decorations, giant balloon installations, customised hashtags, drip-cakes and signature cocktail bars. With all that excitement we’re fit to bursting with gleeful excitement about what 2018 could possibly bring! Wedding stylist Lindsey Hunter shares with us her top wedding trend predictions for fashionable flowers in the coming year…
As Pantone released their spring colours and recently announced that Ultra Violet is the colour of the year for 2018, we are going to see lots of fusions of colour. Expect to see unusual colour combinations, especially in neutral venues where couples can be really creative with colour.
‘Greenery’ was a huge trend in 2017 and this is set to continue well into 2018. Greenery is going to be everywhere, from colour schemes and details to extravagant Enchanted Forest styling. It is a versatile trend that is easily applied to all aspects of your wedding day.
Oversized blossom trees
We are expecting to see lots of oversized ‘blossom’ trees featuring heavily in 2018. Couples will be using both real and artificial options, making this wow factor trend accessible to all budgets. With the Instagram age taking control, couples are wanting to re-create huge weddings they have seen, and the use of artificial arrangements will make this possible.
Alternative table decorations
Couples are always looking to stand out with alternative table décor. We are predicting the use of fresh fruits and vegetables to feature in table displays. They look wonderful when combined with simplistic fresh flowers, lots of candles, fairy lights and glassware.
As the terrarium trend will continue, we are also expecting to see lots of glass-dome decorations with floral displays inside as table centrepieces. They look fantastic with some additional foliage and candles. Place them on rustic log slices for an elegant vintage look.
Our thanks to Lindsey and the team at Get Knotted (get-knotted.net) for these predictions!
