Accessory designer, Olivier Laudus, reveals how to achieve a subtle look with your hair accessories…
Side headbands have taken over the traditional tiara by a mile over the past few years, and are great for people that don’t have enough hair to support a hair comb or who don’t want to worry about the hair comb falling out during a crucial part of the wedding.
The problem with side headbands is that the embellishment is usually set on a simple metal band which doesn’t add anything to the overall look and will most likely stand out in the hair (especially on dark hair).
One way to avoid this is to wrap the band in coloured ribbon.
Olivier says: “I found that there are many brides who don’t like the metal band on the headpiece, particularly if they have fine hair, as it would seem too prominent and be difficult to hide the band. I am really excited to now be able to offer bands which match their hair colour.”
Headpieces in our ‘Made in Britain’ collection are available in regular silver or gold metal, and also now in blonde, brown and black. All pieces are made to order and can take up to 2 weeks, with prices ranging from £95-£210.
