Planning a 2021/2022 celebration on a budget? We’ve got some fab hacks that could help you save money on your wedding this festive season…
Whatever time of year you’re getting married, the festive season and January sales can save you a bundle if you plan ahead! Check out these handy ideas below and see how you can save money on your wedding this month.
Gift sets galore
Make the most of all the gift sets and multi-buy offers available over the festive season. From beauty advent calendars to toiletry sets, these can easily be bought and split between your bridesmaids as thank you gifts. Or, miniatures would make lovely favours for your guests!
Light up the room
Fairy lights, candles and all manner or sparkly decorations are everywhere at this time of year, and come January you can guarantee they’ll be in the sales. So, stock up and you’ll have gorgeous twinkly details to decorate your indoor and outdoor reception spaces with.
Seasonal alcohol deals can also save you a bundle if you’re providing your own big-day booze. Many venues will allow you to bring your own alcohol if you pay a corkage fee, which can often work out cheaper than paying for their in-house wine and champagne.
Of course, holding your wedding in the winter time can save you money in itself! Less popular dates in the colder months will often be vastly reduced at your chosen venue, as will the cost of a lot of your wedding suppliers who are less in demand in winter. Your venue or church may also be beautifully decorated for the festive season already, which could save you money on additional decorations.
Think ahead to your Autumn/Winter wedding and buy your bridesmaid dresses and accessories a year in advance if you can. Not only will you benefit from party-season sales, but the colours and fabrics will be perfect too. Wait until Spring to purchase them and you’ll be left with new season pricing, bright colours and thin floaty materials, that might not cut it in the colder months.
