This beautiful wedding is simple chic at its finest! Real bride Fran shares the details of her wintry wedding day…
How did Tom propose?
“Tom took me to my favourite place in the world, Salcombe in Devon. It was the weekend after my birthday and we decided to go for a walk to my favourite beach, South Sands. Once we got on the sand, we walked to the edge of the sea. I remember so clearly Tom saying, ‘I haven’t just brought you here for your birthday, there is actually another reason….’ I had actually had a feeling he was going to propose so I wasn’t totally shocked but as he got down on one knee, I remember just wanting to explode. I was so happy!”
What dress did you wear?
“The designer was Odylyne the Ceremony from Ghost Orchid bridal boutique. I always thought I wanted a big, ballgown dress as I’m quite figure conscious, however, every dress I tried on made me feel quite traditional and frumpy and I knew I definitely wanted something different that I hadn’t seen 100 times before! As soon as I tried it on, I knew it was the one! It was covered in tiny pearls and sequins.”
And the accessories?
“I opted for a pair of white satin heels from ASOS and I wore a very simple veil from Ghost Orchid. For jewellery I wore my nanny’s bracelet, my mum’s earrings from her wedding day.”
What did Tom wear?
“Tom wore a three-piece black tie suit, topped off with a dark green velvet blazer from Clements and Church in Birmingham.”
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“I was so excited, I just wanted to get to him! He looked so handsome.”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
“My maids of honour were my friends Sally and Soph, and my bridesmaids were my friends Ella, Sigorni and Laura, my cousin Fleur, and my sisters-in-law Lizzie and Emily. In the end I decided on white top and skirt combos! The top was from H&M and the skirts were from Uniqlo. I then got them each made a grey velvet belt, which finished the look off perfectly.”
What was your theme?
“We didn’t have a theme as such, I just wanted the wedding to be very simple, lots of white flowers and quite a stylish look to everything.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“Walking in the church, seeing Tom and hearing the choir for the first time. The journey to the church as a last ‘Weaver family’ journey with my brother driving, my mum in the front and my dad and I in the back. And finally, Tom’s speech was just so amazing.”
