“Your wedding preparations can take a bit of work, so you’ve no doubt enlisted the support of your best friends and close family to help your big day run as smoothly as possible. And, because they’ve been there for you at every step of the way, you’re probably thinking about giving them a little gift to say thank you.
Jewellery makes the perfect option for gifting to your bridal party. It’s beautiful, and they can wear it for your special day and long after to look back on all your memories. But, how do you find the ideal jewellery gift that everyone will love? Below, I’ll be giving you my top tips for picking jewellery to give to your bridesmaids.”
Find pieces that match their bridesmaid’s dresses
“You’ll probably want your bridal party to wear their jewellery on your big day, so you’ll need to pick out pieces that match your bridesmaid’s dresses and wedding theme. Pay particular attention to colour. Dark, wintery tones like green, brown, red and purple tend to match gold jewellery. Alternatively, lighter, airy colours like pastel hues and blues work best with silver jewellery. If you’ve opted for blush-toned dresses, silver, gold, and rose gold can all work well. Or, you could pick out pieces with coloured gemstones that match the tones of your bridesmaid’s gowns.
You’ll also want to think about the style of your bridesmaid’s dresses. If they’ve got high necklines or long sleeves, avoid long, heavy necklaces, earrings, or bracelets that could catch on the material. However, if you’ve got low necklines, like a sweetheart neckline, then larger necklaces and longer earrings can work well.”
Pick out something they’ll wear again
“You’ll no doubt want to pick out pieces that your bridal party can wear long after your big day, so choosing versatile pieces is a must. So, consider the lifestyle and personal style of each of your bridesmaids. If they have a busy lifestyle, work in an office where large statement pieces would be frowned upon, or they just prefer more minimalistic pieces, then it’s best to stick to small pendant necklaces, stud earrings and dainty chain bracelets. However, if someone in your bridal party is a fan of a bit of glitz and glamour, then pick out larger pieces that suit their personal style so they’re more likely to wear it again.”
Find jewellery that matches your wedding dress
“Your bridal party is the team that’s helped you plan and get ready for your special day. They’re your closest friends and family and you might want their wedding jewellery to match your own to show your strong bond. So, pick out elements of your wedding dress or bridal jewellery, and search for similar pieces. For example, if you’ve opted for a stunning necklace decorated with gemstones, find smaller pieces that match, like gemstone stud earrings.”
Add a personal touch
“Your wedding day is special, and you may want to add a more sentimental touch to your jewellery gifts to thank your loved ones for all their support. So, you could pick out pieces with their initials on them, their birthstone, or the gemstone that corresponds to the month you got married. This way, whenever they wear their jewellery, they’ll always be reminded of your big day and the memories you made together.”
Your bridal party have been there for you at each step of your wedding preparations, so you’ll probably be thinking about gifting them a little something to say thank you. The tips in this guide will help you pick out the perfect piece of jewellery to show your gratitude to your closest friends and family on your big day.
