This Somerset wedding had the most gorgeous details. Bride Hannah tells us all about her beautiful day…
How did Doug propose?
“He didn’t! I did! It was on 4th November 2018 on a very dull and wet Torcross beach in Devon. I had been patiently waiting for him to pop the question for quite a while and previously told myself that if he didn’t then I would do it on Torcross beach while we were away for my birthday. It was a wet day but I insisted on a walk along the beach. I read a few words and when I started to get emotional – I think he knew what was coming. After he said yes, we ran to the nearest pub to celebrate… and to get dry!”
What dress did you wear?
“I wore a strapless dress, which had a fitted bodice and a chiffon skirt and train. I wore a lace sleeved top to finish the look. I said yes to the 7th dress, which was a complete surprise – I didn’t expect to find it at the first shop!”
And the accessories?
“I wore my own pearl earrings and my mum’s shoes. My floral crown and bouquet were made by our florist from Floral Creativity. I didn’t want to wear too many accessories because I wanted a simple look, plus my beautiful dress didn’t need anything more.“
What did Doug wear?
“Doug wore a navy blue three-piece suit by Racing Green from Suits Direct at Clarks Village. His bow tie and pocket square were mustard yellow with eucalyptus leaves from Mrs Bow Tie. It was all teamed with brown Chelsea boots that he already owned.“
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“I couldn’t stop smiling and I felt totally excited to see him and all our friends and family. It was an absolutely perfect setting at the top of the hill and the sun came out for us – I felt so lucky.”
Who was your bridesmaid and where was her dress from?
“I had one bridesmaid who is my best friend Magda. Her dress was from ASOS.“
What was your theme?
“My favourite colour is mustard yellow and I love eucalyptus – it reminds me of my travels to Australia, it smells fantastic and it’s a beautiful colour.“
What was the highlight of your day?
“The walk up to the Temple at Hestercombe Gardens was fantastic. We had rain in the morning and weren’t sure we would be able to get married there, but the sun came out and the walk through the gardens was magical.”
