A sunny springtime wedding with lots of gorgeous details. Kerry tells her story…
How did Katie propose?
“We were enjoying the holiday of a lifetime in the USA. On our final night in Las Vegas we had been horse riding through Red Rock Canyon at sunset. After the horse ride we sat on a ranch around a fire pit roasting marshmallows. It was just the most romantic setting and that is when Katie asked me to marry her. Just incredible!”
How did you feel when you saw Katie up the aisle?
“The first time I saw Katie walking down the aisle was amazing! Everyone in the room was already emotional because my nine-year-old
niece, Tia, who has cerebral palsy and has been wheelchair bound, had recently had SDR surgery to help her walk. She managed to walk down the aisle with her walker and sprinkle petals. It was beautiful. And then Katie walked down and my heart felt like it would explode out my chest.”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
“We had my three nieces Livvy, Tia and Lylah as bridesmaids and their beautiful dresses were
from John Lewis. Katie’s maid of honour was her best friend, Katie, and her dress was custom made by the amazing Brides of Bond Street in Leicester.”
What was your theme?
“We went quite rustic with our theme and had log slices under our birdcage centrepieces. We completed the birdcages with twinkly lights and artificial flowers from The Range.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“Everything was incredible, it really was a magical day. It’s hard to pinpoint one. It was amazing to have my brother give me away. My amazing friend Jessica Knight sang us down the aisle to Ellie Goulding’s How long Will I Love You and sounded incredible. The actual ceremony was beautiful with readings from my mum and two of our closest friends. Our first dance to Tom Walker Just You & I. We had a lovely moment with sparklers during the evening. But for me the highlight was at the end of the night after a few too many! Myself, Katie and my two brothers all got up on chairs and danced away to Come On Eileen with all our guests in front of us clapping away and cheering us. It was just brilliant. Our evening entertainment was by Derbyshire Wedding Events who as well as providing the music also took photos and the video, too. A truly fairytale day.”
