This couple had a stunning Italian wedding with their nearest and dearest. Bride Rachael reveals all…
How did Sam propose?
“Sam proposed on the 30th May 2017, we were on the Amalfi Coast when he suggested completing the 10km Path of the Gods walk. We were three quarters of the way through, at a spot overlooking Positano, when Sam told me he needed to change his shoes. The next thing I knew he was asking me to marry him. I was speechless and burst into tears. I accepted without hesitation and spent the rest of the day on the beach in Positano celebrating!”
What dress did you wear?
“I ended up choosing an Ellis Bridals dress, style 12295. It was the fairytale moment of knowing it was ‘the one’, as soon as I tried it on. I was so certain with having tried on 15 dresses in my first fitting! I wanted the dress search to be a private experience and Cherished Wedding Boutique in Mansfield had everything I wanted, going above and beyond for me.”
What did Sam wear?
“We wanted to keep the groomsmen smart but relaxed. We settled on some lightweight but smart pale grey trousers from Burton that all the groomsmen and Sam wore. Sam completed his outfit with a white Charles Tyrwhitt shirt and a Hackett London navy jacket.”
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“When my dad and I arrived at the end of the aisle, I just felt so excited. Dad had to slow me down as I was nearly running down the aisle! When Sam turned to look at me, I couldn’t focus on anything else and I just knew the whole day would be perfect, because we were getting married.”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
“My bridesmaids were my best friend and older sister Laura, best friend from university Becky, best friend from home Lois, and my best work friend, Hannah. We found some beautiful TFCN London dresses that we bought from ASOS. My flowergirls were my nieces Emma and Olivia, who absolutely stole the show, alongside our gorgeous page boys: our two nephews Albie and Noah, and our best man’s son Rory.”
What was your theme?
“We wanted the stunning scenery of the Amalfi Coast to be at the heart of our wedding, as well as ensuring food and drink took a real spotlight on the day. Flowers were our biggest addition, as I was keen to have the beauty and smell of real flowers around both venues. We just kept it quite relaxed, which made the vibe of the day work really well.”
What was the highlight
of your day?
“All of it? It really was the most perfect day from start to finish.”
