A gorgeous celebration with a brilliant proposal story! Real bride Tasha tells us about her wedding in West Sussex…
How did Matt propose?
“I had arranged a surprise 30th birthday trip for Matt with his parents, his brother and his brother’s girlfriend, to Dubai. His brother slipped up and told him that I was taking him to Dubai but didn’t mention that himself and
the rest of the family would be going, too. Matt decided to use this as the ideal surprise proposal.
Whilst in Dubai we attended an amazing brunch at the Atlantis on the Palm. Matt was in the gardens and saw some canvases available to paint on. It was then that he knew this would be a great way to propose and painted the question ‘will you be my wife?’ on to one. I came out into the garden too soon and was ushered away completely oblivious. Matt then called me over and asked me to marry him!”
What dress did you wear?
“I wore a beautiful Maggie Sottero dress called Jennita. It was a fit-and-flare dress with cascades of embroidered lace appliqué, a slimming bodice and a sweetheart neckline. I added a beaded, lace, embellished popover jacket by Sincerity in the day for added sophistication. The dress was from Creatiques – an elegant, stylish boutique in Portsmouth. Kayleigh was amazing. She put me at ease, was brilliant at selecting dresses for me to try, including some I wouldn’t have dreamed would suit me and working out what was right and wrong until she found me the one.”
What did Matt wear?
“Matt wore a Herbie Frogg three-piece blue check suit. It was a dark blue, slim fit suit with a lighter blue check. All the suits were from Astares in Havant, who were very helpful at the consultations.”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were there dresses from?
“I had four bridesmaids – my school friends Taryn and Lauren, Sadie who I worked with, and my maid of honour, Fay, who I met at college. They wore empire line maxi dresses from Little Mistress.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“Everywhere I looked, every time I looked, everyone was having such a great time. There were constant smiles, laughter and happy tears throughout the whole day. We truly felt that all of our guests were genuinely happy for us and we have never felt so loved and special as we did that day.”
