This couple’s venue inspired their glamorous black tie wedding theme. Bride Christina reveals all…
How did Tim propose?
“We were on a getaway in Stockholm. He hired a canoe and we rowed out into the tranquil Stockholm archipelago. He brought us to a quiet patch of land and while I was admiring the stunning landscape, he took out the engagement ring and asked if I would marry him, to which I said yes immediately. The moment was made all the more memorable when on the way back, our canoe was capsized by waves caused by a large boat passing by! Although we were completely soaked, we were both laughing. We had survived our first crisis unscathed and, if anything, the moment was made that much more memorable.”
What dress did you wear?
“After many months of wedding dress shopping in London, Surrey and Cardiff, I ended up at a beautiful boutique shop in my home town of Swansea. Cariad Bridal helped me design and make my perfect wedding dress! I described my perfect dress to their seamstress and she sketched this onto a sheet of paper before my eyes. Cariad redesigned one of the Cariad Couture gowns to a bespoke style just as I described. It was an enormous risk, but I trusted that the dress would turn out as I dreamed it would. I certainly was not disappointed!”
And the accessories?
“My wedding shoes were from Dune and my earrings and hair pieces were from Liberty In Love.”
What did Tim wear?
“Tim wore a classic black tuxedo, waistcoat and bowtie, all from Hackett.”
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“On arrival to the ceremony I felt excitement but apprehension of what was to come. When I first saw Tim looking back at me with his happy eyes and a big smile, all those nerves disappeared.“
Who were your bridesmaids?
“Friends Sofia, Katie and Ana; sisters Samantha and Natascha and my niece was flowergirl. They wore ASOS dresses.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“The absolute highlight was dancing with my father to Celine Dion’s Think Twice. I had grown up listening to the song with my dad in the kitchen. And even though he was in a wheelchair, he was able to get up and dance with me in front of all of our guests. It’s a moment that I will never forget.”
