Want to know this year’s must-have wedding trends? You’ve come to the right place!
We’re just a few months into 2019 and we’re already seeing some of the hottest trends in the wedding industry. From bridal bows to bold three piece suits, it’s clear that both the bride and groom will be wearing standout styles this year. While we’ll see some trends from last year continuing to shine in 2019, there will be plenty of new trends entering the wedding scene as well. Keep reading to see which six trends will be taking over weddings this year.
Bows will be a fashion staple for brides this year. From oversized bows used to make a statement to dainty and girly bows for a more ladylike wedding day look, we’ll see bows of all sizes and styles on the altar during 2019. Not only are bows the perfect accent to your bridal look, they can be functional as well. Whether they’re used to accentuate your waistline or lace up your straps, the possibilities are endless!
Typically, one of the most anticipated moments of any wedding is seeing the bride for the first time as she walks down the aisle. This year, we’ll see more grooms looking to standout as well by ditching traditional suits for sharper styles. Think bold and bright three piece suits in trendy colours like purple, burgundy, and ink-blue. Three piece suits are a great option for grooms because their flawlessly tailored and fitted design works get for the ceremony. Even better, once the reception begins the jacket can be removed and sleeves rolled up for a more comfortable and relaxed look.
Mixed metal bridal sets
One of the biggest wedding trends this year is mixed metal bridal sets. When you love the look of multiple metals – why should you have to choose just one? With many A-listers including Keira Knightley and Kate Middleton sporting mismatched engagement ring and wedding band sets, it’s no surprise that many contemporary brides are on-board with this look. Your engagement ring and wedding band should reflect your personal style, so don’t feel forced to choose a single metal for both. Online jeweller, Blue Nile, makes it easy to find your perfect mixed metal bridal set by offering a dazzling array of wedding ring styles in a variety of metals directly online.
This year we’ll see many couples reverting back to classic church or cathedral ceremonies. Even though these ceremonies are more traditional, you can still decorate in an elegant way. Not to mention, the beautiful interior and exterior of the church provides the perfect backdrop for your ceremony photos. From gorgeous floral arrangements to pew vases, they are so many ways you can add unique touches to the venue. Before choosing your decor, be sure to see which ceremony decorations are allowed and which are discouraged.
Greenery has been the go-to option for wedding decor over the past few years. We’ll continue to see greenery as the focal point of wedding decor this year as well, particularly through centerpieces. Greenery is a great option because it adds an organic pop to any color scheme and fits with pretty much any wedding style. Not to mention, it’s super cost friendly. Tall foliage, mini potted mixtures, and cascading runners are all great ways to incorporate greenery into your traditional centerpieces. Check out these additional organic centrepiece ideas for inspiration.
Another popular trend from previous years that we’ll continue to see rise this year is dessert tables. There’s more to wedding desserts than cake alone. And while traditional wedding cake will always be a wedding reception staple, sometimes it’s nice to add a little variety to your sweets menu. From cookies, cupcakes and pies to the more unexpected options like donuts and ice cream, the sky’s the limit!
