This couple decided to wed overseas with an intimate ceremony. Lior tells all about her stunning wedding in Italy…
How did Dor propose?
“I love sunsets, and one of the best places to see it is our rooftop. After coming back from work, Dor waited for the perfect time to go up and then proposed. Afterwards, our families were waiting for us at our apartment to celebrate. ”
What dress did you wear?
“I knew that I wanted a dress that was quite simple but still elegant. I chose Luminary by Lihi Shamrich Cohen – an Israeli designer. It was the first dress that I saw, and I fell in love with it. However, to make sure I chose the right one, I wanted to try a few more. After trying more dresses, I decided to go with the first one, not only because it was the dress that I liked the most, but also the Lihi Shamrich Cohen team made me feel comfortable.”
What did Dor wear?
“He wore a dark blue suit from Zara with a white shirt. He didn’t want any tie or bowtie, but he added a light blue handkerchief. He matched it with brown shoes and a belt, and most importantly, Happy Socks with the Beatles print!”
Who were your bridesmaids and what dresses did they wear?
“Since the wedding was small with only 35 people, I had six close friends with me. I just told them to wear whatever they wanted, so there was not a specific theme or colour for the
What was your theme?
“We didn’t have a wedding theme, but we wanted to keep the idea of village vibes, lots of green, yellow, and a dash of purple.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“The most magical time we had was at the wedding ceremony itself. We did it in the city square, near the Municipality, where there is an amazing sunset view. The design of the place was beautiful – white chairs, lots of flowers and a red carpet towards the centre of the ceremony. It was really an exciting moment.”
What was your best buy?
“Our best buy was actually the decision to host the wedding at the Hotel Leone with the best people, view and food we could ask for.”
What’s your saving tip?
“Weddings are very expensive, but if you plan correctly, you can meet the budget you set.” For example, because we did the wedding abroad, we decided to hire only a still photographer (not a video photographer), while a very good friend of ours filmed a video (this is his profession in Israel). Proper planning is that you do not wake up a day after your wedding with a negative balance in your bank account.
