These childhood sweethearts finally said ‘I do’ in a beautiful ceremony. Ayesha tells her story and shares stunning images from her Warwickshire wedding…
How did Reece propose?
“Reece proposed in the Peak District at a lake house called The Hideout in January 2013. I had no idea it was going to happen, it was very personal and just the two of us. It had snowed and was like a scene out of a romantic movie. Reece had organised with the help of my sister and brother-in-law a gazebo tent out on the lake with beautiful draped voil and cosy pillows with candles. When he got down on one knee I was shocked but thrilled. I was watching this man who I loved so much tell me he wanted to spend his life with me. It was perfect!”
What dress did you wear?
“I got my dress from Tilly Trotters in Leamington Spa and can honestly say I had the best experience choosing my dress. I wore a Charlie Brear Payton dress with an Aurele overskirt. I also added a Demi Corello metallic leather belt, which gave me an opportunity to create my own unique style.”
And the accessories?
“My earrings were from River Island, a Britten Weddings necklace, a hair piece from Etsy and a bracelet from Tomas Sabo.”
What did Reece wear?
“He had a tailored suit from The Suit Lounge in Coventry. It was a House of Cavani three-piece suit. He bought tan suede loafers from Office to complete his look.”
Who were your bridesmaids and what dresses did they wear?
“I decided to have 5 little ones, and they included my nieces, Reece’s cousin and our best friend’s daughter. To go with our simple style, I ordered their Estella dresses from Monsoon.”
What was your theme?
“I would describe our wedding as a romantic, neutral, minimalist wedding. We loved the idea of a neutral toned greenery style with a pop of metallic silver and gold here and there. It was all about soft greys teamed with industrial
black metal for that dual textured look. We used lanterns and vases full of greenery to connect with our overall theme.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“Our first dance (Rule the World by Take That) was sang by The Distraction Band. It really did feel like we were on top of the world and had finally made it, after all this time we were finally celebrating our love.”
