A wedding with views overlooking the stunning Peak District. Real bride Adelle tells us how she worked with a gold colour scheme in a beautiful location…
How did Adam propose?
“We were on holiday in Crete with Adam’s family when he appeared on the balcony holding a ring box. I managed to squeeze out a ‘yes’ – I couldn’t wait to share our amazing news with our friends and family! ”
What dress did you wear?
“It was the first dress I tried on at Bridal Affairs – a mermaid ivory Morilee gown by Madeline Gardner. It was full at the bottom with organza ruffles, and it had a sweetheart neckline and crystal and beaded straps. I felt a million dollars in it!”
And the accessories?
“I chose a cathedral veil, also from Bridal Affairs. I loved how our photographer used it to create some fabulous shots! My favourite accessory was wearing my Nannan’s engagement ring (over 60 years old). I have many happy memories spent with my grandparents; unfortunately they were unable to attend due to illness, so it was very special for me to wear it.”
What did Adam wear?
“We hired Adam’s (and the groomsmen’s) suits from Bridal Affairs, too. They were modern, royal blue lounge suits from the Westbury collection by Peter Posh. They looked very smart with their tan shoes. Adam wore an ivory tie and matching pocket square.”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
“My three best friends; Hayley, Maria and another Hayley! They put so much time and effort into arranging the best hen weekend for me! Their dresses were sparkly, gold, fitted dresses, bought online. The girls looked absolutely stunning.”
What was your theme?
“We chose a gold theme to match The Maynard’s unique, grand Chatsworth Suite that overlooked the gardens. We chose tall, elegant glass candelabras as centrepieces on each table, on gold sequin table runners and we lined the room with ivory and gold pillar candles. We had gold and glass vases of gypsophila spread around the room. These matched our beautiful bouquets and buttonholes from Millie’s Floral Boutique.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“Before our first dance, my Dad and I danced a routine to I Loved Her First, which we had been practising at Linda Brookes’ School of Dancing for months prior to our wedding. It was a lovely, special touch.”
