Cream and lavender looked simply stunning in this real wedding by the quantock lakes. Bride Mel tells us all about her magical day…
How did Scott propose?
“Scott proposed at the top of a mountain in the French Alps. It was a moment I’d always dreamed of! Scott had also arranged for our friends to meet us to celebrate by watching the band Bring Your Sisters.”
What dress did you wear?
“I found my dream dress at Abbi Chapel in Taunton. After trying on four dresses, I knew it was the one. It was from the Serenity Bridal range, and every time I went for a fitting, I fell more and more in love with it.”
And the accessories?
“My earrings were a wedding morning gift from Zivile – my bridesmaid. They were diamanté with pearls in the centre. My necklace was a gift from my bridemaids, Lucy and Claire, from Missoma in London. Our initials were engraved on it. I also wore a dainty Tiffany bracelet, which I received on the morning of the wedding from Scott. It was perfect to match my dress and hair.”
What did Scott wear?
“Scott, his best men and ushers were all dressed in Marc Darcy. We loved their range, plus their delivery and service was second-to-none.”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
“Zivile (Zivile also did all of the wedding hair for the day), Lucy, Claire, Naomi and Alana. The girls’ dresses came from ASOS and they all looked stunning. The flowers and dresses were perfect.”
What was your theme?
“Our wedding planner, Laura Watts, used the venue (which in itself was its own theme) and we just added a vintage floral theme throughout. Lots of earthy colours – dusky pinks and greys were key!”
What was the highlight of your day?
“The whole day went so fast! I think the evening was the highlight for me. I was able to relax and have time to get around and try and see everyone – you have so much to do in the morning and afternoon what with getting ready, the ceremony itself and then the photos. You don’t realise the time flying by. In hindsight, I was grateful we had a late license because this meant we were able to dance until 1am! We had a live band in the evening – Bring Your Sisters – and these guys know how to start a party! I danced for the first time as husband and wife and enjoyed every second of it.”
