Gemma and Jason said ‘I do’ in their secret-garden style rustic real wedding… Bride Gemma tells us more about personalising her dream venue…
How did Jason propose?
“In July 2016, Jason took me back to the same spot of our first date, in Bournemouth. As the sun set, we were watching the world go by on the beach and then all of a sudden Jason had a beautiful diamond ring in his hand!”
What dress did you wear?
“My gown was Harlow by La Sposa. I purchased it from the wonderful Hannah Elizabeth Bridal boutique in Botley, Hampshire. The ladies there are so lovely – they helped make my wedding dress experience so special.”
And the accessories?
“My headpiece was from a designer called Lily Bella (I got this from Hannah Elizabeth Bridal, too). My shoes were from Kurt Geiger, my bracelet from Pandora, and diamond-pearl earrings from Ernest Jones. My artificial wedding bouquet came from Sarah’s Flowers.”
What did the groom wear?
“Jason wore a royal blue morning suit and dove grey waistcoat from the online tailors Dobell, with a pink shantung tie and matching pocket square from Swagger & Swoon. His tan shoes and belt came from Next.”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
“My best friends Daniella, Gemma, Helen, Niamh and Antonella, along with my two beautiful nieces, Millie and Evie. All of the dresses were from Monsoon. Daniella, my maid of honour, wore a Briar Rose maxi dress, while the older bridesmaids wore Aurora multiway dresses so they could each wear them their own way. The younger bridesmaids wore Sarria scallop dresses.”
What was your theme?
“Rustic. The venue was stunning on its own and we didn’t want to detract from its natural beauty, so took a minimalist approach. We added personal details like glass jars with twine as flower vases, wooden hearts with artificial roses, wooden place card holders (made by our uncle), natural cardboard pillows filled with chocolates and some ‘Tredgett Trivia’, tied with twine as our wedding favours.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“It might sound cheesy, but marrying my soul mate – especially the first moment that I saw him and having all of our wonderful family and friends together to celebrate it with us. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat!”
