Congratulations! You’re engaged! And now the fun begins… first thing’s first: for a truly stately affair, we love these stunning venues…
The first item on any newly engaged bride-to-be’s planning list is the wedding venue. And rightly so – get this right and the whole day is in safe hands. A sensational venue will not only provide the backdrop for a set of unforgettable photographs, but will also help to set the tone and overall holistic ‘vibe’ of your entire day. Considering carefully what effect you want to create is often determined, maintained and carried off, by your choice of wedding venue. Fortunately, those in the know – the good people at Country House Weddings – have shared their expertise with the bridal world and hand-picked four of the most opulent, picturesque and stunning venues in the South of England. Intrigued? Let’s find out some more…
With a ceremony and wedding breakfast capacity of 116 people, and an evening reception capacity for a whopping 250 people, the gorgeously Georgian Gosfield Hall is the ideal setting for throwing the party of the year. The happy couple can hire out the venue’s cosy cottage the night before, and in-house chefs allow for flexible catering options. Although tremendously stately, Gosfield Hall is family-owned and run giving it an intimate and accessible feel.
Another spectacular venue, this time in Tudor-style, Leez Priory in Essex can provide overnight accommodation for up to 34 guests and has a ceremony and wedding breakfast capacity of 100 people. But with space for up to 250 people in the evening, this is another wonderful party venue. Just over an hour away from Central London, Leez Priory comes with over 25 years’ experience of creating the day of your dreams.
This magical fairytale castle in the Forest of Dean comes with a magnificent ballroom for the ceremony complete with a 75-foot aisle! The sensational facade affords perfect photo opportunities and the venue can accommodate up to 87 people for a more intimate ‘let’s make a few days of this’ bonanza, or 150 people for a traditional ceremony and wedding breakfast, with space for 250 guests in the evening.
St Audries Park
Choose to say your ‘I dos’ in the spectacular and picture-perfect Victorian Orangery at St Audries Park. The venue can accommodate up to 100 guests overnight and is happily situated, nestled in amongst an 100-acre deer park. Exclusively for weddings, this beautiful venue in Somerset guarantees a fine-dining experience and first-class hospitality.
