From the car to her brilliant choice of footwear, Hannah tells us her how her dad played a big part in her stunning white wedding…
How did Mark propose?
“It was 2015, Christmas Eve morning. Mark showed me a present he had made me for Christmas – a video of photographs of our life together. Once it finished, our son George came into the room holding a bouquet of flowers. He wore a T-shirt that read “Mummy, will you marry my Daddy?” Mark was behind him on one knee with the ring. It was an amazing moment and the easiest ‘yes’ of my life!”
What dress did you wear?
“I wore a stunning princess gown called Omette by Victoria Jane for Ronald Joyce. I absolutely adore my dress and am so thankful to everyone at White Dresses and Tiaras in Crawley for their fabulous service from beginning to end.”
And the accessories?
“I had a beautiful veil and hair vine that matched the lace and diamanté detail in my dress (both purchased from White Dresses and Tiaras). I wore diamond earrings that my dad had given my mum and a diamond bracelet given to me by my mum. I wore a pair of white cowboy boots that were made for me in Peru (I am half-Peruvian). They were in honour of my late dad who loved wearing cowboy boots! Mum surprised me by placing engraved silver plaques on them with words my dad used to say to me.”
What did Mark wear?
“The groom and all his groomsmen wore navy slim lounge suits with scoop waistcoats and grey ties, hired from Anthony Formal Wear in Billericay.”
What dresses did your bridesmaids wear?
“Fiona and Nicola wore dove-grey dresses from Little Mistress, while Claire wore a dove-grey dress from Showcase by Dorothy Perkins. We found it difficult to find one style that suited them all, but I cared more about them feeling beautiful and comfortable, so was happy with dresses that complemented each other.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“Mum managed to find my dad’s dream car – a classic Jaguar XJS – that we thought we had lost a few years back (when the garage it was being kept in closed down and the owners disappeared). My brother pulled up and I knew instantly that it was not a replica, but my dad’s actual car. It was a very emotional moment, and needless to say I cried my heart out!”
