This gorgeous Summer wedding in Somerset features plenty of pretty pink, including the roses, bridesmaid dresses and decor! Bride Tamzin tells us all about it…
How did Adam propose?
Adam had arranged for us (minus the children) to have a meal at our favourite place. He had insisted that we both had dessert, and I was pretty full but just couldn’t resist. Once the desserts had arrived at the table, written around my plate in chocolate sauce was ‘Will you marry me?’. Of course I said yes straight away!
What dress did you wear?
The dress I wore was by Morilee. I loved the shape but knew that I wanted it to look a little bit different, so I took it to Sam and the ladies at ‘1 White Dress’, who are based near Ilminster Somerset. They listened to my requirements and redesigned the top half of the dress to add lace, and I completely loved it!
And the accessories?
My shoes were by Diane Hassall. The drop down pearl earrings that I worn belonged to my mum, so that was the ‘something old’ and ‘something borrowed’ sorted. As my ‘something new’, Adam bought me a new Pandora bead to wear on my Pandora bracelet. My ‘something blue’ was part of my garter (I had two!), which was bought from Eleanor Florence in Yeovil.
What did Adam wear?
Adam wore a three piece charcoal suit with a blush pink cravat to compliment the colour scheme, hired from Bakers of Bond Street in Yeovil.
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
When I first saw Adam standing at the end of the aisle I couldn’t believe how handsome he looked. I couldn’t wait to get down there and I felt very privileged standing next to him about to be his wife. It was the happiest moment ever – all the nerves had gone, and we were both overcome with emotion.
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
I was so blessed to have my three sisters as my bridesmaids: Samantha, who was the maid of honour, and twins Jane and Rose. I’m so glad that my best friend Nicola was able to travel over from France to make the wedding day and complete the bridesmaid team. Their dresses were bought from Belle Boutique.
What was your theme?
Being a wedding coordinator at a local venue for three years, I have seen a lot of weddings with a variety of different styles. I knew that I wanted my wedding to be classy and sophisticated with a modern and classic style. I feel that the lace and pearls bought this together, along with my favourite colour of blush pink as a colour scheme.
What was the highlight of your day?
It’s so hard picking one highlight, as everything came together to make the perfect day. We loved every minute; getting ready with my sisters, walking down the aisle, time out with our photographer for the private photographs. My dad’s speech brought the house down with laughter, and our little girl Grace made a speech helped by my sister Sam. We completed the day with celebration and love on the dance floor with all our friends and family. The atmosphere of the whole day was amazing and we had complete trust in Amy, the wedding and events manager at Lanes Hotel.
What was your best buy ?
Another tough question, but would have to say it was the venue, Lanes Hotel. We had exclusive use of the hotel which felt wonderful. Amy’s support along the way was fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for more. The service on the day was above and beyond what we had hoped for and everyone is still talking about how brilliant the whole team were, nothing was ever too much trouble.
What’s your saving tip ?
Make sure you have the time to shop around. I did a lot of research in my two years of planning and it was worth it. Make sure you do your homework!
