Passionate, full of flair and deeply romantic, this couple brought their dream Italian wedding to life. Gorgeous bride Jennifer shares all the details…
How did Steve propose?
“Steve proposed during a trip to Disneyland with our two-year-old daughter. We’d brought her for her birthday, but it was also around the same time as our ten-year anniversary. Little did I know that Steve had his proposal planned all along. He proposed beside the lake at Disneyland Paris.”
What dress did you wear?
“I wore a dress by Ellis Bridals, Style 11330. During the day I also wore a cover-up by Ellis. Both were bought from Bellissima Weddings in South Woodham Ferrers.”
And the accessories?
“Most of my accessories also came from Bellissima Weddings. In the morning, my mum gave me some beautiful sapphire drop earrings, which were my something blue. For my something borrowed I wore a Pandora bracelet, also from my mum.”
What did Steve wear?
“Steve had a custom-made tailored three-piece suit from Jack Bunneys.”
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“I was so nervous! I work in the wedding industry myself and have attended hundreds of weddings as a wedding film maker, so I expected to be really calm and chilled. I knew what to expect and I knew what was coming but as soon as I got on the boat with my dad, I felt overcome with emotion.”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
“My sister, Lucy, was my maid of honour. She had her dress custom-made whilst she was travelling in Vietnam. Our flowergirl dresses were from M&S. It was pure coincidence that I came across these – I spotted them whilst I was working on a job I was filming for. They were beautiful and the lace on their dresses matched the lace on my dress!”
What was your theme?
“We didn’t have a theme as such, but we wanted to keep everything authentically Italian. The location and setting was so beautiful that we really didn’t need much. We just went with a few rustic touches here and there to complement the restaurant and make things a little more special. We had wooden pallets and corks for decor and our flowers were pale creams and whites with lots of green foliage. Overall it was simple, but classic.”
