Sometimes it can be tough for curvy brides to find their dream dress! Here the founder of Michelle Bridal tells us more about the inspiration behind the collection…
In our opinion, brides should never have to sacrifice style to get a wedding dress in the right size, but sometimes it’s not easy to find the right dress to suit fuller figures. Founder of Sydney’s Closet and Michelle’s Bridal, Phyllis Brasch Librach, knows this all too well, which is why she created her fabulous prom and bridal lines! Here’s her story…
“Every bride pictures herself walking down the aisle on her wedding day in the dress of her dreams. For plus size brides, that can be a special challenge.
I speak from experience. My curvy daughter Michelle became a bride in June 2013. After countless appointments, she cried. None of the dozens of gowns she tried on flattered her curves. Even worse, the styles fell short of the romance and elegance of the historic 1920s Art-Deco ballroom where she would get married and have her reception. Seeing my daughter distraught over finding a wedding dress broke my heart.
So I created a collection of formal wedding gowns for my daughter and all the plus size brides like her. I design the Michelle Bridal Collection for the discerning and savvy bride who wants only fashion-forward styles, fine fabrics and exquisite embellishments for her wedding gown.
Michellle Bridal debuted in 2013 with a capsule collection. Brides loved the designs and the fabulous fit, so I designed a full collection with new silhouettes to show off a full figured bride’s beautiful curves.”
The latest 2017 collection from Michelle Bridal is the best yet, with flattering A-line and ballgown silhouettes, rich satin and delicate lace, plenty of sparkling beading, and fashion-forward illusion necklines and sheer sleeves.
