If you’re looking for inspiration for your Winter wedding decor, our Real Weddings section is a great place to start! Here are some of our favourite picks from Winter weddings…
Melissa and Simon’s lanterns
Lighting is an important consideration for Winter weddings, as it’ll get darker a lot quicker and electric lighting isn’t always the most flattering. Give your wedding decor a cozy glow with candles and lanterns, like Melissa and Simon did for their Christmas wedding – these standing lanterns are ideal for dotting around your venue. They even had a wicker reindeer woven with fairylights! See the rest of the wedding here.
Flowers can be tricky for Winter weddings, as you don’t have as much choice when it comes to colourful blooms. Instead, keep things simple like bride Sam did for her November wedding. She chose elegant ivory roses to match her rustic glamour wedding theme, and interspersed it with dried gypsophila sprayed gold for a little festive sparkle. See the rest of the wedding here.
Paul and Farrah’s favours
It wouldn’t be a December wedding without baubles, and we love Paul and Farrah’s classy take on this Christmas classic. Their elegant glass baubles not only match their red and gold colour scheme, but they also double up as a place name and a favour, as guests can take them home and put them on their Christmas tree! James and Nicola’s blankets
When you’re throwing a wedding celebration at the coldest time of the year, it can be a nice added touch to offer your guests cozy blankets – particularly if your ceremony is in a church, as they can get a bit chilly! We love how James and Nicola provided blankets tied with this sweet poem for their February day! See the rest of the wedding here.
Nicolas and Claudia’s sparklers
One of the advantages to it getting darker earlier in Winter is that you can really make the most of any fireworks or outdoor lighting. It can sometimes be too light in Summer for a dramatic sparkler exit, but in the Winter, sparklers really come into their own! Just take a look at this fab shot from Nicolas and Claudia’s January wedding. See the rest of the wedding here.
Kate and Darren’s aisle
Kate and Darren’s breathtaking aisle decorations just go to show that you don’t need masses of fresh flowers to make an impact with your wedding decor! Their stunning aisle includes candle lanterns and birdcages, natural and sprayed branches, hanging crystals and springs of eucalyptus for a touch of greenery – and we think it looks fabulous!
