Remember, remember… an unforgettable November the 5th wedding day with a Halloween-style theme. Lauren tells all…
How did Adam propose?
“Adam signed up to do the Paris Marathon in April 2015 and we decided to make a long weekend of it. I waited for Adam at the finish line, but as I was stood there, a guy who had just completed the marathon came running up to his girlfriend in front of me and proposed! As Adam crossed the line, I congratulated him and then told him that I had just witnessed ‘the worst proposal I had ever seen!’ Little did I know, he had my engagement ring in his pocket the whole time! After a couple more days, Adam eventually found a beautiful park in Paris where he arranged for us to have a Champagne picnic and he got down on one knee!”
What dress did you wear?
“I booked my appointment at Brides of Winchester during the Chanticleer Designer Weekend. With the help of my mum and the lovely ladies at BOW, I managed to narrow it down to two dresses. I was torn! I was very lucky to meet the Chanticleer designer, Tracy. She started sketching a design combining the bits I loved from both dresses. She cleverly pinned the dress in several places with additional bits of lace to give me an idea of how the final dress would look. I put on a veil and cried. It was perfect!”
What did Adam wear?
“We eventually found Adam a perfect slim-fit black tuxedo in Charles Tyrwhitt, London.”
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“When I first saw Adam up the aisle, I just felt a rush of happiness. All my nerves disappeared and I could feel myself beaming from ear to ear.”
Who were your bridesmaids and what dresses did they wear?
“I had five bridesmaids: my two sisters, Holly and Lydia, and my three closest friends from school, Laura, Lottie and Leanne. They wore black satin A-line dresses from David’s Bridal, London.”
What was your theme?
“With the bridesmaids and groomsmen in black, it just happened naturally that the wedding would have a very classic feel with a modern twist. Our wedding was 5th November, so we bought lots of Halloween props for the photobooth and made personalised Bonfire Night honeycomb as favours.”
