A stunning woodland wedding, full of colour and a whole lot of love! Bride Jeska tells her story…
How did Mark propose?
“Mark and I originally met as teenagers working at our local superstore whilst studying. Our paths crossed again on a dating website. It was all a bit of fun setting my profile up, never in a million years did I think I would meet my husband! Mark proposed on New Year’s Eve 2014/15 under the stars on the beach behind our house whist watching the surrounding fireworks.”
What dress did you wear?
“I knew from the start that I wanted something very unique, understated and not too fussy. Working with amazing, beautiful dresses/fabric on a daily basis (I own The Bridal Boutique of Jules) made my decision to choose a wedding dress really hard. So I decided to design and make my own dress with the help, love and support of two very dear friends of mine from The School of Stitch in Ashford, Kent.”
And the accessories?
“I simply accessorised with flowers. I had a gigantic colourful bouquet with all of my mum’s favourite flowers in, and I picked flowers from my mum’s cottage garden where I grew up and had them in my hair. I wore my stunning lace Rachel Simpson shoes along with my very special rose gold pink ruby and diamond earrings, that Mark left on my pillow for me the night before our wedding.”
What did Mark wear?
“We wanted a look that was colourful, yet traditional with a touch of quirkiness. He wore a bespoke three-piece suit from The Bridal Boutique of Jules.”
Who were your bridesmaids and what dresses did they wear?
“I had seven bridesmaids. We had four adults wearing The Bridal Boutique of Jules multiway dresses, three flowergirls wearing Joules floral dresses and my pageboy, our son Fred, wore a little M&S suit and accessories from The Bridal Boutique of Jules.”
What was your theme?
“Having lost my mum several years ago, I desperately wanted her to be a big part of our day. As a little girl mum would always take me to a particular woodland and sit me amongst the bluebells/primroses and take photos of me. It was our perfect venue! In terms of colours, all things bright and beautiful, with rose gold hues.”
