It took this bride a long time to find the right dress for her elegant white wedding, but it’s a beauty! Stacey reveals all…
How did Simon propose?
“In 2014 we went on holiday to our favourite Greek island, Kos. Whilst sunbathing on the beach, Simon suggested that we swim over to Kastri island (a short distance from the shore). Once we had got there, Simon got down on one knee in front of St Nicolas church and ask me to marry him!”
What dress did you wear?
“I tried on 30+ wedding dresses and finally fell in love with the stunning Robyn dress by Ronald Joyce. I found this dress when Gracie Bleu Bridal phoned to tell me that the ‘perfect’ dress I’d previously described had been delivered to the store and they were exactly right – it was my dream dress! The whole team at Gracie Bleu were fantastic from my first appointment to my final fitting.”
And the accessories?
“I wore white gold and pearl droplet earrings from Ernest Jones – a present from my parents, and a pearl bracelet my mum had made using pearls she had worn on her wedding day. My hair clip was lace and pearls and was purchased at Gracie Bleu.”
What did Simon wear?
“Simon purchased his grey three-piece wedding suit from Skopes, an East Midlands designer outlet. Simon wore a Paisley patterned ivory silk tie and the others wore the same pattern in a dark grey to match my bridesmaids.”
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“I felt like the luckiest woman alive finally marrying the man of my dreams! My eyes filled with tears of happiness as our wedding music played and my smile was unbreakable!”
Who were your bridesmaids and what dresses did they wear?
“I had two bridesmaids: my younger sister, Carly and my best friend, Amy. They wore a full-length Dessy dress in a dark grey with pearl accessories. I had two flowergirls and they wore a privately made ivory dress similar to mine with a grey belt to match the bridesmaids.”
What’s your saving tip?
“Make a budget and stick to it! A lot of people try to get involved with your wedding planning but
you must remember, it’s yours and your partner’s special day so do what makes you happy. You can’t please everyone!
