Struggling to pick the perfect tune for your first dance as husband and wife? Take the lead from many British couples, opting for chart-toppers by Ed Sheeran, John Legend and Adele for their first dance songs…
When it comes to first dance songs, it seems that British couples are increasingly choosing modern favourites over classic love songs, with Ed Sheehan topping the list for two years running! New research from VoucherCodesPro.co.uk revealed that 1 in 7 British couples who are getting married this year have settled on an Ed Sheeran track for their first dance song; with John Legend and Adele the next most popular choices.
After surveying couples who were searching for wedding discounts, Voucher Codes Pro found that choosing a first dance song was the second hardest decision of the wedding planning process, after choosing a colour scheme!
The top 5 artists being chosen for 2017 were:
- Ed Sheeran – 14%
- John Legend – 9%
- Adele – 9%
- Beyoncé – 7%
- Michael Bublé – 6%
VoucherCodesPro.co.uk also carried out a similar poll in 2016, in which Ed Sheeran was the number one choice, with 11% of couples choosing a song by him.
Only 10% of respondents said they were thinking of having a song that wasn’t released in the past five years, with Whitney Houston topping the list.
