If you’re searching for a stunning bridal gown that’s designed and handmade in the UK, British label So Sassi should be at the top of
So Sassi, the esprit label from Sassi Holford was created back in 2012. Five years on, the label is now stocked across the UK by a carefully selected list of retailers. The So Sassi collections get better and better each year, so we are hugely excited to see what the 2018 Collection has in store when it launches in May this year!
One of the many things we love about So Sassi, apart from the cool and chic designs, is that all the dresses are handmade in England by an expert team of pattern cutters, seamstresses and hand beaders. Located in the South West of England, the design studios generate a perfect balance of creativity and love – something that goes into each and every gown.
Each style starts its journey in the mind of one of the design team, whether their inspiration is from the runway or a film, the focus is always on creating something special for a bride’s big day. The production starts with a So Sassi design developer who creates the pattern that will bring the dress to life in its carefully chosen fabrics. It then takes the skill and precision of the cutting department to ensure each dress is made within mm’s of perfection, before heading over to the seamstress who combines the various elements of the gown. At this point, when finally in it’s 3D form, the gown is checked by the design development team to make sure it is how the designer invisioned it. Finally, it ends up in the hand finishing department for the detailing that adds the finishing touches. You can view how your wedding dress is crated by viewing the handmade in England video below!
Multi-award winning designer Sassi Holford, who celebrated her 35th year in bridal last year, oversees the collection, working with the designers on shapes, fabric selections and sharing her commercial and technical experience, “ Working with these young designers on the collection is such fun. It’s so different to Sassi Holford and is empowering to work with the future of the bridal industry.”
