Last month we saw their amazing honeymoon, now here’s the beautifully chic wedding! Bride Katie tells all…
How did Jonny propose?
“We were visiting my relatives in Oslo and Jonny had the engagement ring hidden in a sock in his pocket the whole weekend because the box was too big! He’d secretly asked my cousin to take us somewhere private and romantic, then he proposed near a waterfall.”
What dress did you wear?
“After months and months of searching (and finding a favourite in every single shop), my mum saw a Pronovias dress online called Tanay that looked like ‘the one’. They stocked it in a shop called Eternity Bridal in Warrington, but I had to wait weeks to go and try it on because they were closed for Christmas. Thankfully it was worth the wait, and the couple who own the shop made me feel so special.”
And the accessories?
“I bought my Strictly-style shoes a year before the wedding in Monsoon, long before we’d chosen anything else other than the venue. My veil was handmade using silk tulle by Zoe at Eternity Bridal, and my lace gloves were from Cornelia James. I
also wore diamond earrings, which were a gift from my parents.”
What did Jonny wear?
“A navy suit with a waistcoat, a blush coloured tie and gold tie pin. All the groomsmen’s suits were from Slaters.”
Who were your bridesmaids and what dresses did they wear?
“My bridesmaids were three school friends, my eight-year-old cousin and two-year-old niece. The adult dresses were from ASOS and the two little ones wore flowergirl dresses from Monsoon.”
What was your theme?
“We didn’t have a theme as such. Our venue was so breathtaking that it didn’t require a lot of decoration, it was like nothing we’d ever seen before.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“Jonny plays in a wedding band so they did two sets during the evening. I’d told him previously that I wanted to crowd surf on our wedding day, but I wasn’t sure when it would happen. But he invited me up onto the stage, serenaded me with Purple Rain, and then I dived into the crowd! It was pretty epic and thankfully a few people caught it on video.”
