Real bride Jess shares the story of her beautifully personalised wedding…
What dress did you wear?
“My dress was a Stella York design bought from Forever Bridal in Barnet. The team in the shop were so friendly and easy going and helped me get the dress just the way I wanted it.”
And the accessories?
“My earrings were a present from Nick when I was a bridesmaid at his brother’s wedding, so were special to me. Myself and the bridesmaids all had wild flowers in our hair. I tried to keep it as natural as possible.”
What did Nick wear?
“The groom, best man and fathers of the bride and groom wore navy three-piece suits with a bow tie, paisley print pocket square, braided brown belt and brown brogue shoes. These were sourced from various places.”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
“I had four gorgeous bridesmaids and a flowergirl. The flowergirl was our niece, Isla, and the bridesmaids were my sister-in-law Carli and school friends Kathryn and Sarah. My maid of honour was one of my oldest friends, Katie, who lives in Sydney, Australia, but came home for our wedding! Isla’s dress was from Monsoon and the bridesmaid dresses were from House of Fraser.”
What was your theme?
“We didn’t really have a theme as such, but wanted the day to reflect both our personalities. Nick chose to have limoncello favours, as his family are Italian, and his mum made it all! The musical entertainment included a saxophone, which has long been a favourite of ours.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“The highlight of the day is difficult to choose as I loved every minute, however I was especially pleased with the fun we all had on the old London bus getting to Hatfield house. Also, I couldn’t not mention the dance the boys did! It was hilarious and enjoyed by all – Nick, the best man Anthony, photographer Simon and friend Andrew wowed us all with their dance moves to a collection of my favourite songs! Flowergirl Isla stole the show by joining them for the best bits. It was choreographed by Jenny Beasley of Non Stop Action.”
