Soft pastel hues created a timeless look for this beautiful vintage wedding. Bride Chloe tells all…
How did Ryan propose?
“After we’d attended a friend’s wedding in Italy, August 2012, we headed to Rome for five days. We had a trip to the Borghese Villa, which is set in acres of parkland and gardens, and Ryan kept insisting we sat under a tree. As I went to sit down, I turned around and saw him on one knee, pulling a small box from his camera case. At this point Ryan came out with beautiful words and then he asked if I would marry him.”
What dress did you wear?
“My White Rose Bridal dress was bought from Emma’s Secret Bridal Boutique. The dressmakers removed the waist band and I had a ribbon sash belt with a diamanté brooch added, as well as a hoop to bring the skirt out.”
And the accessories?
“I had a small elbow-length veil, a diamanté hair slide that was made by my dress shop, and a pearl necklace and earrings borrowed from my mum.”
What did Ryan wear?
“Ryan knew from the beginning that he wanted a traditional suit with tails so that he would feel special on the big day rather than wearing just a regular suit. He settled on a dark charcoal-grey jacket, pinstripe trouser and waistcoat.”
Who were your bridesmaids and what dresses did they wear?
“My maid of honour was my best friend Rosie, and I had three of my closest friends – Kamila, Natalie and Gemma – and my sister-in-law, Kim, as my bridesmaids. My cousin Brooke was my flowergirl. Their dresses were made by Callecia Brown.”
What was your theme?
“Our theme was classic with a touch of vintage, including pearls, lace, blushes and creams.”
What was your best buy?
“My favourite items were the little teacups on the table with the cupcakes in by Clare’s Cupcakes. They were beautifully decorated with pearls, lace, flowers and butterflies and they tasted amazing, too!”
What’s your saving tip?
“Think about what you’re buying! I impulse bought so many things early on that I didn’t end up using.”
