Dressing for a wedding can be a mine field, so we’ve put together a few wedding guest outfit do’s and don’ts to help you along the way…
Do dress comfortably
Wear anything too tight or shoes that are too high, and you will most definitely regret it come the evening! Take flats to change into if necessary and wear something fitted and smart, but comfy.
Don’t wear white!
This is probably the number one rule of wedding guest etiquette. Unless the invite specifically says that all guests are to wear white, don’t do it. We’d also avoid other pale shades too, such as cream and nude just to be on the safe side!
Do wear bright colours and prints
Don’t be afraid to wear a bold colour or print. Whether it’s your dress or your hubby’s tie, a little bit of colour looks lovely in the photos.
Don’t wear anything too revealing
Keep it classy! Stay away from anything too short or low cut, and remember that weddings are family occasions.
Do stick to the dress code
Take note of any dress code stipulations on your invitation and adhere to them. Check out the handy guide below from theblacktux.com, for what to wear at each type of event…
