If you want a pastel wedding scheme with added glamour, this is your inspiration! Bride Hannah tells all…
What dress did you wear?
“I wore a Pronovias dress from Beautiful Brides in Nottingham. I was with my mum and Michael’s mum when I found it. It was the dress that made me smile the most so I knew it was the one! I did try lots of different styles just to be sure, but I kept going back to this one.”
And the accessories?
“I didn’t want to wear too many accessories because my dress was quite dainty and girly. I wore earrings from Accessorize, a headband from Debenhams and my shoes were Next sandals. Because I couldn’t get my dress altered in length due to the lace around the bottom, sandals were the perfect height.”
What did Michael wear?
“Michael wore a Hugo Boss suit and shoes. He didn’t really want to spend a lot on a suit but I managed to talk him into it. I thought if I had a lovely dress that I felt amazing in then he should have something special to wear. We decided to go for black because of his dark hair. He looked so smart!”
Who were your bridesmaids and where were their dresses from?
“I had four bridesmaids. My best friend Jo was chief bridesmaid, then my other best friend Jodie and my two younger sisters Chloe and Poppy. My sisters live abroad so it was very difficult to find a dress that would be suitable for them and I knew they wouldn’t be able to try it on until two weeks before the wedding. I decided to go for a lilac multiway chiffon dress by Kelsey Rose, bought from Déjà Vu in Newark.”
What was your theme?
“Lilac, gold and lots of flowers. Because I had two rooms to decorate at the venue, I decided the garden room would be all lilac, gold and as many flowers as I could get hold of. The evening room theme was lots of fairy lights with lilac and silver. I spent a lot of time on Pinterest and Instagram getting lots of ideas and it really all came together in the end.”
What’s your saving tip?
“Make as much as you can yourself. Even if your craft skills aren’t great (which mine aren’t) it still makes it more personal and gives a great sense of achievement knowing you made a lot of things and didn’t waste money.”
