If you’re struggling with the search for your dream pus size wedding gown, check out their top tips below:
Know Your Curves
Not all plus size brides have the same curves. It’s critical to shop for wedding gown designs that can fit and flatter your body type. Ball gowns look best on brides with full busts, hourglass figures or apple-shaped bodies. Be careful if you’re petite. A ball gown can easily overwhelm your figure. An Empire, or high waist design, flatters a bride with a small bust, petite frame or pear-shaped figure. Blessed with an hour-glass shape? A Mermaid or Trumpet design shows off your fabulous figure. Stuck on a design? Remember, A-line gowns flatters any body type.
A picture-perfect look starts next to your skin with foundation garments that provide a flawless fit for your dream wedding gown. Always try on wedding gowns with the undergarments you plan to wear on your wedding day. And remember to bring them to all your fittings!
With today’s modern fabrications and constructions you can actually smooth out your curves and still be comfortable – even if you go with a bodysuit or bustier. Best to shop for lightweight foundation garments with a hint of stretch so you can dance the night away without feeling restricted. Take a color cue and opt for shapewear in nude or ivory over white. It will be closer to your skin tone and blend better with any color gown.
Be Open Minded
You may have your heart set on a certain style wedding gown that you fell in love with in pictures. But avoid being close-minded. You could be very pleasantly surprised if you give yourself the chance to try on a variety of designs!
