Wow! Weddings don’t get much more beautiful than this! Bride Jenna tells us all about her wedding in South Africa…
How did Tamir propose?
“During a romantic break to Timbavati Game Reserve, South Africa. After an exciting day we arrived back at the lodge. Candles lined the pathway to our chalet and a stunning table was set up under a starry night with a bottle of champagne. Tamir asked me to marry him, and of course I said yes!”
What dress did you wear?
“I had looked around at a few shops for wedding dresses but I struggled to find exactly what I wanted. I had heard about the amazing dresses that Elbeth Gillis creates so I set up an appointment to meet with her. As I walked into her beautiful studio in Cape Town, I was greeted by Elbeth and I immediately felt relaxed. We sat and discussed my ideal dress, and we looked at materials and French lace. I tried on some of her dresses and then Elbeth sketched my magnificent dress. I was worried that the dress might not turn out like I was expecting, but when I went for my final fitting, it was perfect in every way.”
And the accessories?
“My golden shoes were from Bride & Co, my earrings were from Elbeth’s studio and I had a princess hair piece, bought from Lovista.”
What did Tamir wear?
“Tamir wore a fitted navy blue suit with brown shoes, both from Fabiani.”
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“Walking down the aisle was the most amazing feeling. I felt so happy and excited walking towards Tamir. After all the planning leading up to the wedding, it was so important for me to take it all in.”
Who were your bridesmaids?
“My incredible maid of honour was my sister, Claire. My beautiful bridesmaids were my friends Sarah, Christi, Natalie, Kerry and Nicola.”
What was your theme?
“I wanted a fun lunchtime wedding so I based the theme around this. The venue played a huge part in working with the style I wanted as the rose conservatory is a beautiful room with big windows looking out onto the vineyards. We had simple but beautiful tables so we used white cloths, chairs with wooden décor and flowers in mixed vases.”
What’s your saving tip?
“Prioritise what’s important to you and then work with your budget. For me, having an incredible photographer was essential. Get lots of quotes so that you can make an informed decision about what’s best for you.”
