We love this wedding’s beautiful colour palette. Real bride Vicki tells us about her traditional wedding day…
What dress did you wear?
“I first saw my wedding dress on the Eleanor Florence (a bridal boutique in Yeovil) Facebook page, and just knew I had to try it on. The first dress I tried on was the one I’d seen online – a gorgeous design by Phoenix Gowns – and as soon as I saw myself in the mirror I knew it was the one. I don’t think anyone said anything for about 10 minutes, we were all mesmerised by it! I felt like a real princess. I tried on another 5 or 6 dresses just to make sure, but none of them gave me the same feeling.”
And the accessories?
“I had pearl drop earrings along with a matching bracelet, and in my hair I wore a beautiful hair vine. These were all purchased from Lacey Grace Bridal in Somerset.”
Who were your bridesmaids?
“I had my sister Anastasia and my best friend Kirstie as my maids of honour. Harry’s sisters, Amber and Harriet, my best friend Jas and cousin Brooke completed the bridal party.”
What did Harry wear?
“Harry is a sergeant in the army, so he wore his uniform.”
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“I was really nervous walking down the aisle with tears filling my eyes, but as soon as Harry turned around I felt completely at ease. It was such a special moment for me.”
What was your theme?
“I wanted to tie the wedding theme in with Harry’s uniform, so I added the purples and lilacs in with the red, which looked stunning against the ivory dresses. I had lace in my dress and so did the bridesmaids, so I carried this theme throughout with pearl and butterfly accessories. Ellie and Emily at Tie The Knot did a great job of putting my ideas all together to style my day.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“The highlight had to be the ceremony and marrying Harry. Having all our close family and friends their to celebrate with us made it such a special occasion – it really was the most perfect day.”
What’s your saving tip?
“Try to put a little aside into a savings account each month and watch it grow. I have a tip box at work so saved up all my tips and we put any spare change into a pot. It’s really surprising how much it adds up.”
