Real bride Louise tells us all about her chic wedding day, complete with gorgeous Pronovias gown and Jimmy Choo heels…
How did Ben propose?
“Ben and I had our first date on 2nd October 2005. On 2nd October 2013 we were blessed with the birth of our daughter Olive. Shortly after Olive was born, Ben proposed to me in hospital at my bedside.”
What dress did you wear?
“I wore a beautiful dress by Pronovias, which I bought from Rookery Manor in Somerset.”
And the accessories?
“My shoes were called Louise by Jimmy Choo! My earrings were olive leaf drop pearls and my pearl bracelet was from a jewellery stand in Essex.”
What did Ben wear?
“A Jack Bunneys three-piece suit, a pocket watch his uncle lent him and some cufflinks I had made for him of our daughter’s hand prints.”
How did you feel when you saw him up the aisle?
“I remember thinking he looked really great because I didn’t know what he would be wearing on the day. Seeing him made me feel calm and I couldn’t wait to get the papers signed so we could start celebrating together.”
Who were your bridesmaids and what dresses did they wear?
“I only had one bridesmaid; my sister. She wore a blush-coloured dress from Dessy. Our daughter was our flower girl whose dress was made by my mum.”
What was your theme?
“We made sure every aspect of the wedding was something personal and significant to us. We went for natural-coloured flowers along with olive trees (because of our daughter), our table names were based on all-time great West Ham players as they are very important to Ben, and my mum made our wedding cake.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“Walking out of our ceremony to the gospel choir singing One Direction’s ‘You Don’t Know You’re Beautiful’!”
What’s your saving tip?
“Use Pinterest! I used shops such as IKEA, The Range and Hobbycraft and got creative, too. Be prepared that these things take time and think about personal touches because they count a lot more than you think.”
