Are you a nature lover? Support The Woodland Trust with gift list contributions or make a dedication on behalf of your guests…
The Woodland Trust is the UK’s largest conservation charity for trees and woodland. They campaign to protect precious ancient woods, restore the ones that are damaged, fight for those under threat and create new native woodland around the UK.
By putting tree or woodland dedications on your gift list instead of toasters and gift vouchers, or even transforming traditional wedding favours into a living and growing talking point, you can do something amazing for nature in a way that will always be remembered.
Tree and woodland dedications from the Woodland Trust are a meaningful and lasting way of ensuring your special day stands out for all the right reasons. Trees can be dedicated from just £15 and also on offer are quarter acre groves (or more), with benches and marker posts with personalised plaques. As a thank you, you or your guests will receive a dedication pack, including a personalised certificate, map so you can easily visit, and information about the wood itself.
Real-life stories:
Woodland Trust supporter Hannah Leonard wanted to make sure her wedding favours weren’t thrown away with the table confetti at the end of the day.
“We wanted to do something memorable for guests, something everyone would appreciate and wouldn’t be wasted. We were able to choose some woodland near the venue and came up with our own dedication wording. We had a very positive reaction from guests – they hadn’t seen anything like this before at other weddings and they thought it was a great idea. We were delighted to give something unique to our guests while also helping such a great charity.”
Rather than creating a gift list, Vanessa Watchman and her husband set up an online fund for their guests to donate towards. With the money raised they dedicated an acre of woodland and a grove post in a wood in Pembrokeshire, Wales to celebrate their wedding.
“We asked for donations rather than gifts, as it was a second wedding for us both,” says Vanessa. “I had always dreamed of planting an acre of oaks – leaving something behind for the next generation.”
