Owners of Icon Bridal in Kettering teamed up with Luxury Bridal Designer Modeca to raise money for charity…
Amy Watts and Tracey Hales took part in Strictly Northampton, an event in its sixth year, and based on the BBC Show Strictly Come Dancing, going head to head in a bid to win the infamous glitter ball trophy. The event was in aid of local Northampton Charity, Cynthia Spencer – a hospice providing palliative care to those whose illness is no longer curable. Amy took part as a contestant and Tracey as one of the professionals.
Following an 8 week training programme (and 15 hours a week at that!) learning the Jive, American Smooth and Tango, the girls performed to a sell-out crowd of 1,300 at The Derngate Theatre. Modeca sponsored both Amy & Tracey with a donation of dresses from their collection to dance the American Smooth. Following a few alterations, Amy danced in dreamy tea length Sofie and Tracey in the beautiful Remondo. Both finished in the top six out of 23 contestants, with Tracey and her partner, Johnny Seckington of Seckington’s hairdressers in Northampton taking 2nd place.
A total of £44,000 was raised for the Charity with Amy raising over £800 individually!
