This happy couple enjoyed a wonderful day with classic details. Lynette tells all…
How did David propose?
“We were long distance at the time, with me in Singapore and David in London. We met up in Klosters in Switzerland for a long weekend, and on our last day he had brought the ring up to the top of the mountain to propose. Unfortunately I was having a bad day snowboarding and said that I would never snowboard again! That threw a spanner in the works, so he popped the question back in the hotel instead. It was still a really memorable moment.”
What dress did you wear?
“My dress was by Carolina Herrera. I ordered it from their New York flagship store.”
And the accessories?
“I wore solitaire earrings and a tennis bracelet for the ceremony, which were both wedding presents from my parents. For the evening I wore a statement cuff and necklace from my jewellery line Edge of Ember. My stilettos were from Stuart Weitzman.”
What did David wear?
“A suit from Favourbrook, and shoes from Jeffrey West. I loved his blue embroidered vest.”
Who were your bridesmaids and what dresses did they wear?
“I had six bridesmaids – my sister was one of them, and the others were really good friends of mine. The dresses were from different brands including Amsale, Joanna August, and BCBG. I gave them a navy blue theme and let them choose their own dresses.”
What was your theme?
“The great thing about having our wedding at Aynhoe Park is that the venue is so amazing that it really set the stage for everything else. I wanted the other elements to be simple, classic and elegant so as not to clash with the Aynhoe decor. We had blue and white flowers by Joanna Carter Flowers and huge balloons from Bubblegum balloons.”
What was the highlight of your day?
“Probably when David got up on stage to play in the band with a few
of his other friends during the after party. He was amazing with the guitar, and completely wowed me and all the other guests.”
What was your best buy?
“I thought the oversized balloons from Bubblegum Balloons added to the ambience, and they looked great in the pictures, too!”
What’s your saving tip?
“We got our alcohol from Majestic (on a sale and return) instead of the venue or caterer.”
